Alternative Provision
Our creative sessions are designed to provide young people struggling to attend school with an alternative provision. They combine creative writing and art to help build confidence and skills in a safe, calm space. The Nook is open Monday to Friday for groups and 1-1 bespoke creative sessions.
The Nook for Alternative Provision
We are therapeutic, trauma-informed teachers.
We are happy to work with schools, parents and carers to achieve the best possible outcome for each young person.
We have experience working with and mentoring young people who require an alternative approach to standard education.
We understand the requirements of working with neurodiverse young people.
We are kind and inclusive and love creativity.
We are passionate about seeing every young person thrive.
We are not therapists, but have experience and expertise working therapeutically with young people.
We are open Monday-Friday during term time, with additional workshops available during the school holidays.
We would love to help if we can!
If you would like to refer a young person or a group of young people to join us at The Nook, please fill out the Contact Form below, and we will be in touch.
Although we would love to help every young person referred to us, we are realistic and recognise that we are not equipped to help everyone. We will look at each young person and assess our suitability for them before responding.
At The Nook, we believe creativity is a wonderful way to engage with young people who are struggling in school or with life events.
The Nook provides a safe, calm, nurturing environment and offers a carefully designed selection of creative writing and art sessions.
Some young people may only visit us for a term, while others may need regular intervention over a longer period of time. If we can meet the individual’s needs, and a space is available, we will happily welcome them to The Nook.
